This second volume of Ms. Huston's memoirs lacks the appeal of its predecessor, even though it includes her years with Jack Nicholson, an era of interest to most readers. Accounts of substance abuse and degrading relationships with Mr. Nicholson and Ryan O'Neal raise the question of how much her father's dismissive attitude toward women may have influenced his daughter's self-destructive behavior and clear lack of self respect. Ms. Huston also identifies Hal Ashby as an Oscar-winning film director. He is not. Perhaps one can put this error down to the author's substance abuse.
Anyone who read and enjoyed the first book can safely leave this one alone.
