To be honest I was a little disappointed. This book might impress someI enjoy short stories, which is why I thought I'd give this book a go. I'd never read anything by Carver before, but the comparisons to Chekhov made on the cover drew me in.
To be honest I was a little disappointed. This book might impress some people, Americans of a certain older generation I imagine, but for me I found it hard. The characters were just difficult for me to identify with, their personalities, their lives, their locations. I felt I shared little to nothing in common with them.
