It plods along like the other instalments in this series, and unfortunately it can be summarised easily as 'a great idea executed very poorly'.
It is not that Turtledove is a terrible writer... he is not a great one, but his writing flows decently and the story is interesting, but the pace is completely wrong and his editor totally failed in avoiding endless repetitions
I will go ahead in the series because i want to know how it ends now, but it very rarely happened to me that a book took me months to finish because i could not really be bothered...Continua
It is a very well written alternative history of the second world war, where an alien race invades earth. At the start it is totally absorbing, I read first 150 pages in one time, but then it loses momentum. Anyway I appreciated a lot the well-balanced mix between historical and fictional characters, and I'll go for the next title of this "Tosevite" saga....Continua
