我是五年前才開始接觸現代詩的，先前寫唐詩宋詞，和一些現代小品。雖然很仰慕李白，不過人到中年百事哀，瀟灑飄逸不起來。這本書的取材都很寫實，基本上就是大大小小的日常生活，我印象很深的是三十二歲剛當上《蘋果日報》總經理，接管的業務部漏洞百出，＜門＞是我要當面要求一位高階主管離開的感受。
我想，現代詩如果寫不出現代生活，用更現代的手法也沒有用。
過去曾兩次被人親口說過「不喜歡你」，一次是和一個女人愛到欲捨難離，最後用這句話逼迫作結，那已是幾乎想不起、很久以前的事了。另一次是長期在台北工作，每天打一通電話回家，女兒卻愈來愈拒絕和我說話，有一天突然跟我說：「不喜歡你。」這大抵是書名的由來。
