The name King, fits him even if his name wasn't King. It has been a while since I have read a Stephen King, let alone one from the Dark Tower series and I must say- He Is Good! It was like getting together with an old friend you haven't seen in a long time, the reading was easy and flowed with a smoothness only King can achieve. It was nice to go back and visit with Roland and friends and get a different look at the world they live in. This is a tale that really has more to do with a childhood story from Roland's past than an actual adventure they find themselves, yet the tale fits so perfect5ly that...well just read it and thank heavens Stephen King wrote it.

Not bad as long as you don't remember it is a book written by Lincoln Child. When you do, it seems to immediately fall away from the man's usual line of story telling and becomes predictable in ways too obvious for such a talented storyteller that has thrilled us for many years alone or with his partner in crime Douglas Preston. I do have to say the writing itself was quite good, flowed easily, yet the characters did not grab my interest, there were some flaws in the way they thought and then acted and as I said before, you can easily figure out what is about to happen way before it does. My recommendation, try any of his other novels before reading this one.

This has become my favorite Clive Cussler book. Isaac Bell is a character that rivals the top characters in fiction today, his nemesis Cromwell is both evil and totally entertaining, a perfect match for Bell. Through non-stop action and a serious look into Bell's own creation, this is a total package of adventure, excitement and plain old good reading. The train theme is wonderful, bringing flashbacks to mind of the Wild, Wild West train from the TV show of the same name, while the setting of San Francisco is refreshing as you go from hill to hill and Cromwell's mansion and bank to an earthquake that changes everything. This is a must read for any Clive Cussler fan.

Took a lot of time and imagination, hope you enjoy it

This took two and a half years and a lot of imagination to become this book, I am very proud of it and not so proud that AuthorHouse put it out at a price that is a bit over the top. This took two and a half years and a lot of imagination to become this book, I am very proud of it and not so proud that AuthorHouse put it out at a price that is a bit over the top. According to readers who have bought it though, it is well worth the price, which makes me smile ear to ear to hear. I can only hope that you will also take the chance and go on this one of a kind adventure that I have created for you. Got to go, as I am currently working in the exciting sequel to it.

Not bad. I was hoping this would be the continuation of the relationship between Will and Faith, and on the that note I was sadly disappointed. It does fill in a lot of Will's background, which was good, if not a little contrived with the flipping back and forth from present to past. Karin is a great writer, but in my opinion, she does need to get a bit better with past and present so it is not so confusing. The story is intense and exciting as it allows us a peek into Will's childhood and who his father was, as well as telling us why he became an orphan. His relatinship with Amanda and her ties to his past and the orphanage are revealed in all its darkness, yet I still wish she would have delved more into the ongoing relationship with his partner Faith who he was at odds with in the previous book of these characters. The addition of a girlfriend was a welcome change for Will and of course added in the complications that his ex-wife brings into it, with her no nonsense entrances and bold attitude towards both. All in all not bad Karin, not bad at all.

Clive Cussler once again lives up to his reputation of being America's foremost story teller. This was my first in the Isaac Bell series and became deeply immersed in the tale from page one. It read like good stiff breeze behind you on a summers day, or like that film, "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" except with more grit, villains and action. The characters were flawless and the story well thought out, which would explain all the plot twists that worked so smoothly throughout the book. If you have never read a Clive Cussler book, this would be a good one to start with.

This book stunk! The plot...well there was none, not really and what there was of one was all over the place. Mr. child needs to get his highly paid butt out of England and New York City and actually go to some small towns in this country, so he can have half a chance of writing what he has no clue about. As for Jack Reacher, this is the first in the series, except for maybe the first book, where Reacher comes off like a vigilante whose ego is all he cares about. Very disappointing and unbelieveable, had to foce myself to finish it.
