Soffre un po' il suo ricalcare lo stesso schema del primo libro, che dà vita a una prima parte molto molto lenta, poi si riprende quando le cose iniziano a girare. Il mondo attorno a Hogwarts inizia a prendere forma e vita, così come il passato dei personaggi.
