This is the second book I read set in the Warhammer 40'000 background and I must admit I enjoyed reading it (not like the first one). The author weaves good stories with nontrivial endings and is a master of describing exotic settings.
The first book is by far the best of the three; it gives a good description of the background and its conclusion is spectacular. The second book is a wonderful descrption of a forge world and of the different aspects of the adeptus mechanicus. The third and final book gets a little boring after a while, but describes a chaos controlled world.
