I wish those who spend too much time chasing after fame and fortune can read it. I wish those who think that the June 4th massacre helped "stabilise" the society and make way for China's current economic "achievements" would read it, too.

One of the most enlightening ideas that this book covers, in addition to what other aNobiians have mentioned, is that one can only see one outcome, and many people think that's all that matters (e.g. when one sees one very successful businessman, one thinks that it is due to what he did in the past, but one doesn't see that many others have done the same thing but have failed.)

Now, think about the argument some people hold that "if there was no June4 massacre, China could not have become so prosperous today". It's plain crap from humanity's point of view. Now this book tells us why from a mathematical / probabilistic point of view.

And, as a Christina, how I now understand why false witness is in the 10 commandments, and why Jesus needs to come and save.
