It exploits the "Dan Brown" effect: a mysterious book, some suspicious alchemy, the Gospels, some conspiration here and there, secrets about the life of Jesus and so on.
And, besides this, I am an Italian who was incapable of understanding what the writer meant with the exclamation "Marrone!": it does not exist in my language!
