Even if you are new to cross stitch, this book is quite helpful. There are great patterns that are easy to follow. If you are wanting any type of celtic design, this is the book for you.

I found this book to be very handy. There were good basic instructions on how to frame mirrors and use the various paint (and other medium) techniques used inside. The projects themselves are displayed nicely with photographs to illustrate the final project. Personally, I didn't really care for the mirror projects, but there were some really nice ideas. I think they were more complex than what I was looking for. The shelves were really inventive. I would like to use some of them myself. I wouldn't really consider this a book for beginners, but for people who already have some skill with crafting. Overall, I found it to be really handy.

Yes, its that fun time of year once again. This year, I decided to do something a little different. I checked this book out from the library just to see what kind of information it had to offer. Let me say, I wish I would have done this years before. This book is great at explaining the new tax changes and how to do your return the right way. If you are doing your own taxes, I highly recommend checking this book out. There is a wealth of information inside that everyone should know.

I found this book to be really well organized. It was a delight to read. Sarah Gardner had a lot of good suggestions for books as well. Additionally, the book was full of interesting and fun recipes. I saved a few of them for myself because they sounded so darn good. I think this book would be great for those clubs that like to have food that corresponds with whatever they are reading. One thing that I liked about the book was the reading suggestions around the time of the year. This is a good book for those new to clubs who really want to have some kind of structure to both their reading and their snacks.

This book was definitely worth the wait. I began to read it before I left Borders and had to wait to get it from the Library. The night I got it, I read it all to the end. I couldn't put the book down. I found the world that Whitfield created to be interesting. As a first novel, this is indeed a good start for the former Random House editor. I did, however, find some parts to drag on. I think that some of the story could have been edited out. The ending wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. It was what I call the "anti-ending". We are left with more questions than answers, which left me a little miffed. All in all, I think this book is definitely worth a read.

After reading The Historian for my book club, I wanted to get some "real" history on Dracula. I remembered this book from my Borders days and decided to check it out. I'm glad that I did as it turned out to be very interesting. There is a lot of medieval history and a lot of side stories that are intertwined into the story of Dracula. I thought the authors did a good job of showing the real Dracula. I found him to be a very interesting person in history. I really recommend this book to anyone who wants to study the real Dracula.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I thought it was interesting, but wished it went into more detail at the end. It seemed to end abruptly. I did find it amusing and could relate a bit to the story. Overall its a fun, quirky story about teens. I'd recommend checking it out.

After watching Mansfield Park on DVD last night, I had the whim to read this novel. I have the movie on DVD (actually two versions) but oddly enough, had yet to read the book. I thought that it was quite lovely. Its not my favorite Austen novel (Mansfield Park is my favorite), but it is close. I think the story could take place today and it would have the same meaning. That is what is great about many of Austen’s novels. They have meaning for us in our lives today.

Serenity - Those Left Behind

This was a nice story in addition to the TV series and movie. I felt it was just another episode to the show. I loved the artwork as well. My hope is that they do not stop there and continue to create more stories. Very well done.

Personally, I didn't think this book was that great. It was not really organized that well. There were bursts of random information all throughout the book. I didn't enjoy reading it. Yes, there were some useful tips in it. The lists of books she gave were just that... lists. I could just go to a bookstore and pick those books off a shelf by looking. It wasn't really that inspired. Many of them were your typical book club selections anyway. If you are new to the book club scene, this book may be helpful, but all in all, I would stay away from it.

I found this to be an interesting take on the classic story of Alice's adventure in Wonderland and a great start to the trilogy. Beddor was able to take the mysterious land of Wonderland and make it come to life. Although that life was twisted and scary, but in a good way. I found this book to be very enjoyable and a nice easy read. The only real problem I had with the book was some of the dialog. I felt that it was a bit too modern and obviously aimed at teens. I know the book is in the young adult section; however, I felt the dialog could have been better and still enjoyed by the target audience. I am looking forward to the next book, Seeing Redd which comes out August 21, 2007.

What a beautifully violent book. The images inside are just awesome. Granted there isn't much to read, but so much more to look at. I was just blown away by the imagery. Very well done indeed.

What a great combination of mysteries and Manga. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will continue to read the rest of the series. I really liked the illustrations as well. If you want to get into reading some Manga, I would recommend this series.
