This is a story about a father and his son around Christmas time. The Byrne family travels from Nova Scotia, Canada to New York City each December so their father can sell Christmas trees from their tree farm. Mr. Byrne's son doesn't want to follow in his father's footsteps like his father wants him to; to take over the tree farm. Instead of talking about what he does want, he runs away in New York. The story also involved the life of Catherine Tierney who is a widow of three years and can't let go of her beloved husband's ghost. Catherine and Mr. Byrne's lives intermingle with the common interest of Danny Byrnes, the runaway son. This was a different Christmas story and a quick read.

I love how Josh wrote about a deaf boy assimilating into a public school coming from an all deaf school. He showed that even though Will Halpin was deaf, he is just like any other teenage boy. The writing is humorous (I expected nothing less of Josh, so I knew it would be amusing), the mystery aspect is interesting, and the use of texting and instant messaging is relevant to today's teens.
At first I thought the book would be more geared toward boys, but I would also recommend this book for a teenage girl as well. As you read the story, you will also understand the title and the characters on the front cover of the book.
This is the 6th book in the Bubbles series. It was a pretty good and quick read. I was very disappointed in the crazy, unbelievable ending the author wrote for this one though!
This was a pretty quick read for me. The murderer wasn't someone I would've guessed. I wasn't thrilled with the engagement storyline....Bubbles deserves better than that. Not sure where the next installment of this series will take Bubbles, but I will read it.
This is the 3rd book in the Bubbles Yablonsky series. So far, this was my least favorite in this series. I'm not sure if it was because I did not like the setting of the story (coal mining town) or if I was let down by so many characters and nothing coming together until the very end of the book.
