Definitely an important book for parents to check out!

I usually love this author's work but this one I extra loved for some reason. I could not make sense out of all the little bits going on in this story but he did tie them all together really well in the end. During the book, I thought he was starting to resort to 'cheap writer's tricks' for some of the mystery but actually at the end of the book, everything made sense because all of the characters were acting due to whatever motivated them, not the author just trying to be sneaky.

It also covers some common problems and issues and things you can do to help resolve them. I think every dog owner could benefit from a copy of this book.

That being said, there is nothing groundbreaking about dog training in this book. It's all information you can find in many other dog training sources. But it's all together in one place in this book and it is simple to understand.

Cover of Odd Thomas
  • Really enjoyed this book. Odd is, well, very odd, but that's part of what makes it fun. The whole story kept me interested and guessing what was going to happen from the very beginning. I will be getting more in this series soon!

The first chapter was really slow and textbookish but everything picked up after that. I think if you are having a problem with the boring factor of the first few chapters, just skip them and start with the interesting stuff later on.

Cover of Pregnancy For Dummies
  • I found this book to be a good source of detailed information while not being too dry and stuffy, or too scary. I really loved the ultrasound photos in the back with labels on them, which is something I've only seen in this book so far. I think this is my second favorite pregnancy book.

I still have a few more pregnancy books waiting to be read and we'll see how it stands up once I'm finished with all of those but so far, next time I hear someone is pregnant, this is the book I'm going to recommend.

  • My second Harlan Coben book and again really enjoyed it. Not quite as much as Gone for Good, but it was still a solid read.
