A few good chapters out of this book towards the end but mostly it drags on.

Interestingish. Set in the 1920's and obviously well researched but I don't know jack about the 1920's (I still don't know what a flapper is. Interestingish. Set in the 1920's and obviously well researched but I don't know jack about the 1920's (I still don't know what a flapper is. I meant to look it up and forgot) so about 98% of it went over my head and with most of the characters speech I felt like I was listening to my grandfather, not teens. The story was decent. Oddly enough, it felt long yet felt like it hardly got started at the same time. I will read the next one when it comes out.

A few touching or funny moments but mostly this is just painful to read. Maybe this book just hits a little too close to home as I grew up in one of the suburbs in the book and my best friend was a self absorbed gay guy.
Also I don't get the point of picking 2 real towns for the Will Graysons to live in but then giving absolutely no feeling of either location in the book. If they are going to be descriptionless, why not just make up city names? There is a picture of the authors by the bean in Chicago but I think that is as close to the suburbs as they must have gotten.

I have wanted to read this one for so long but it was completely disappointing. Those were seriously the reasons the girl killed herself?? I don't know. Maybe that was the point the author was trying to make that some kids are so depressed it doesn't really take anything to push them over the edge. But then it's really the parent's fault for not getting them help. Not really the kids fault who were just being high school kids.
Also the writing style is really annoying.

Absolutely terrifying story idea to me. The writing was like little paper cuts in my eyes though. I'm not sure what the point of this kind of story in fiction is for though. It isn't like the author had first hand knowledge of this kind of thing.

Interesting setting and idea but the writing is painful and tedious. I was so hoping this book would be a stand alone because while I'd like to know how it ends, I don't think I can read any more of it. Sadly, it's a trilogy. I don't think I will be reading the next in the series.

The Grimm Legacy

Cute story. Writing was very uneven - sometimes it was painfully bad and others I found myself getting enjoyably lost in the story. I could see reading this one with my daughter some day.
