The Angel's Game
I'm giving this book 3 stars not because it's good, but because I did enjoy half of the story.

I'm giving this book 3 stars not because it's good, but because I did enjoy half of the story.
To be honnest, I really hate Cristina 'cos IMO she is a selfish person. I'm not gonna explain why as the feeling you feel toward a character is different for each person. As result, I can't stand those romance scenes in the book, and everything that involve her except the last part of the book.
But I did enjoy Isabella's presence, and unlike its sequel "The Shadow of Wind", I didn't hate the main character David. Maybe I did feel some pity for him, and that's why I can accept some of his cowardly acts.
The book's pace is slower than the sequel, and the ending was a little bit...weird and too sudden that I didn't have the time to react. The story didn't make sense, but that's OK I can accept that since that's what this book wants to show. It's just...for some details the author didn't even explain and it bugs me a bit (just like when I was reading "The Shadow of Wind"). And I think that the author took too long to explain a simple plot, which is maybe why I can't accept the so sudden BANG ending (which is unlike the sequel, although I didn't like the book, but at least the plot was acceptable).
Apart from this aspect, the story line and setting is still sappy and deja-vu, but the way that the author handle it is better than "The Shadow of Wind". And the mysterious air that surrends the book is as good as its sequel. (but I was wondering, why do policeman in the series are all bad guys...?)
This is a book where I would not buy nor recommand to someone except if that person wants to read "The Shadow of Wind", but it is worth trying if you are not afraid of sappy and long half romance half suspense and mystery book.
