Historical fiction. It was based more in what might have been possible and not so much wizards and magic as other telling of this classic tale that I have read. It was good enough to keep me going through 4 books. Although I believe that there are more in this series.

What can I say? Written by a true master of his art, Heilein tells the story of Lazerus Long. It deals with many aspects of the human condition. I read this the first time in my early twenties and it had an impact on me. Then I read it again in my thirties and it had a different effect on me. O ... (continue)

I read Julian May's Pliocene saga when I was younger and thoroughly enjoyed it. This trilogy continues that saga by looking back into the future (if that makes sense) to what lead up to the adversary going back in time. It is a more mature trilogy dealing with more complex subjects like what is ne ... (continue)

I read this 4 book series when I was younger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were very well developed. May tied in to the myths and legends that we have all heard in our childhood masterfully. There was such a wide range of characters that it truly seemed a many colored land!

This entire series of 6 books by Hamilton. They are in sets of 2, but read like one wonderful tale. They had rich characters that you wanted to keep reading about and the story line was complex enough to keep you turning pages. It was epic in scope. I don't usually re-read books, but these were just as good the second time.
