This is the best fantasy series I have read since Lord of the Rings, and it may even surpass that. Magnificent world building, plot, character development, THIS is the kind of fantasy I've dreamed of reading.

Like a lot of people my age, I grew up reading these books from when I was 12 years old, so they occupy a very soft place in my heart. And despite all their flaws, I think they succeed beautifully in what they set out to be, a series of engaging childrens books that appeal to the child in all of us.

Watchmen
I only discovered Watchmen when the film came out. It totally blew me away, and I ran off to get the graphic novel, and was again blown away. Really fantastic, complex characters and a multi-layered story, it was a joy to read.
