An Olympic Adventure -
Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is the Greek fantasy equivalent of the Harry Potter series, although Rowling holds a much more enticing writing style over Riordan. The characters are rather accessible, although it is difficult to relate to the main character himself— ... (continue)

Wow. -
This short novel made me unbelievably sad. It sickens me that this sort of behaviour is in truth a retelling of an actual human event. This book is crafted elegantly and really hits home. The last chapter is amazingly delivered, but is horribly disgusting.

A Brilliant Insight -
Only slightly predictable, the plot of Angels & Demons is truly riveting. Its portrayal of science and religion, as well as the unstable balance between them, allows the reader to make up their own conclusions affiliated with their personal beliefs. It is for this reason that I highly recomme ... (continue)

Upper-Calibre Fantasy -
With a unique take on fantasy deeply rooted along the line between life and death, Nix crafts a story that continuously switches between deliciously fictitious, yet unnervingly real. Sabriel is the quintessential modern fantasy, reconciling the old need for a detailed history with the modern ... (continue)

A Pleasant Companion -
Of course, a collection of fables would never compare to the grand fictional works of Harry Potter, but it does do a nice job of complimenting the lore of the world of Harry and his friends. Recommended reading for fans of the series.

Simply Fantastic! -
For the ending to one of the best sagas in literary history, Stephenie Meyer definitely does not disappoint. Although the beginning of the novel complicates everything about the world of Twilight, the end leaves you warm, fuzzy, and amazingly in love with Bella and Edward.

A First Class Third -
Meyer tears you in every direction in this third novel, and you cry and laugh along with the ride. Each page moves at its own pace, creating a story very unique in its effect. From the beginning to the end, the thirst for the the fourth and final installment grows.

A Stellar Sequel -
Although it pales in comparison to the romance in the first novel, the compelling nature of the storyline remains intact. Everything about this book expands the word of Bella and Edward and leaves you clawing for more.

What? -
Ok, I've only read the first four books of the Chronicles of Narnia to date, but this one is by far the worst. The story seems pointless and Prince Caspian is hardly involved. "The Horse and His Boy" is a much better read.

I was a bit apprehensive when I heard that Meyer had released a novella that takes place during her prior novel Eclipse, especially with the movie adaptation coming out soon. It seemed like she was simply trying to cash in on the hype, and normally things like that are rushed out without a lot of effort being put into their production. However, if it were rushed, you'd never know it. The story ties extremely well into the saga's timeline and atmosphere and the lore is kept pristine. I was also extremely surprised to learn a huge plot twist in the happenings of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn that you wouldn't know unless you read this novella. For Twilight fans, it's essential. For people simply picking the series up to do light reading, it might not be essential, but it is certainly recommended.
