Does fae screw up the usual PNR-Book?

I just thought I'd throw out the question if fae as a phenomenon destroys somebooks. Oh I know that books specifically with fae, is something else, but a reagular vampire strory then?

Would that be detriment to the storyline?

I must say that sometimes I think I'm a bit racist, like when I read in LKH Bloody Bones that trolls were real in her universe. That got me a bit miffed...*grumping*

So friends, speak up, what do you say?

Hmmm... good question. If they are pertinent to the story in some way, then no, I don't believe they mess up the story. I have read some books though where a faery is just sort of arbitrarily stuck in the story line and it throws me. When I get to the end of the book, I wonder why they bothered. It's been so long since I've read Bloody Bone...why were you miffed when she said trolls are real in her universe? Did LKH say it as herself or as Anita?

Speaking of...Have you read The Stolen Child yet EE? If so what did you think? If not, you should. It's on my favs list.

As long as there part of the story line then no, but when there just thrown in they do.

Shannon, I like the hair color change. Looks good. Have you read The Stolen Child?

Thanks, no I have it on order though (if my box of books ever gets here).

Another bites the...I mean another on the TBR pile :-)

In bloody bones the entity locked in those boneyards was fae, and that annoyed me, since the existence of one, indicates existence of several. And even though it was supposedly brough there, I think that just believe that it wsa only the one instance or the fact that the Fae themselves would not be interested in new territory or that the North American continent doesn't have it's own "Fae" is not very likely...

Now that is a sentance I'm proud of :-)

EE thanks for the reminder. I remember now. Funnily enough, she didn't continue to write about them with Anita. Instead, giving them (Fae) a whole new series of their own. I like how LKH explained them ending up here (N. Amer.) rather than somewhere else. I am actually looking forward to her books on Sasquatch and his whole family saga next. *Biting tongue to keep from laughing.*

Yeah, I don't believe we don't have our own Fae either. I see them every where I go, waving their little flags...oh, wait,, not those kinds of faeries. LOL Sorry, I am in a humorous mood this morning. (And no, I have nothing against gays should anyone else see this. They're some of my favorite people.) But I digress...I believe the Fae are indigenous to every country. There are stories of the "wee" people everywhere.

I'm sorry EE for suggesting The Stolen Child, but it's such a great book....
