Ad una prima lettura ero rimasta un po' delusa da questo libro, ma rileggendolo ho capito che questo libro è importante per la trilogia. Janelle doveva avere il tempo di guarire e di crescere e Damon non poteva esserle vicino.

Mamma mia che bello e che ansia, soprattutto verso la fine (mi sento un po' in colpa anch'io per quello che hanno fatto ad Arithon) ... Mi è successo poche volte di soffrire così tanto per i personaggi di un libro e in particolare per uno!

Mamma mia che bello e che ansia, soprattutto verso la fine (mi sento un po' in colpa anch'io per quello che hanno fatto ad Arithon) ... Mi è successo poche volte di soffrire così tanto per i personaggi di un libro e in particolare per uno!
L'unica cosa che non ho molto digerito è stata la fine di Fionn Areth; immaginavo che sarebbe morto perchè la profezia fatta alla sua nascita non lasciava molto scampo, ma sarebbe stato bello vedere una soluzione diversa. Il problema principale è che ha passato tutto il tempo a mettere in discussione Arithon e avrei voluto che alla fine avesse davvero la possibilità di decidere e magari dirgli che era dalla sua parte.
La morte di Feylind mi ha straziato!

Bel libro, non è al livello di 'La pietra delle lacrime' o 'La fratellanza dell'ordine', ma ci sono stati dei punti pieni di suspance e la storia è molto scorrevole.

Bel libro, non è al livello di 'La pietra delle lacrime' o 'La fratellanza dell'ordine', ma ci sono stati dei punti pieni di suspance e la storia è molto scorrevole.
Due cose non mi sono piaciute in modo particolare: La stupidità dei sovrani delle terre centrali, anche se in effetti riflette la stupidità di molta gente pronta a credere a profezie e superstizione. Però se l'autore avesse aggiunto nel gruppo almeno uno scettico, forse avrebbero avuto più credibilità.
La seconda cosa è il finale, l'ho trovato un po' debole: Prima di tutto non ho apprezzato la ripetizione con cui Khalan viene spinta ad andare dalla Hedge Maid, i suoi capitoli e quelli di Henrik erano troppo simili.
E poi mi è sembrato che la trovata di Richard alla fine fosse troppo semplice, forse perchè la Hedge Maid c'è stata presentata come una creatura pericolosissima e invece Richard la sconfigge subito.
Ok, non mi piace quando uno la tira troppo per le lunghe e ringrazio comunque Terry di aver voluto dare una sorta di conclusione a questo libro, tanto il vero cattivo non è ancora stato sconfitto, però ho provato una sensazione di incompletezza e questo mi dispiace un po'.

Mi chiedo come uno faccia a superarsi ogni volta!
Harry Dresden, Chicago's only consulting wizard, takes on phobophages, creatures that feed on fear who attack a horror film convention, in the diverting eighth installment of Butcher's increasingly complicated Dresden Files series (Dead Beat, etc.). Harry finds that fighting monsters is only the prelude to maneuvers amid the warring wizards of the White Council and the vampire Red Court. Less and less V.I. Warshawski with witchcraft, Harry aims his deductive powers at political intrigues rather than crime solving. The body count from the magical melees, however, would do any hard-boiled gumshoe proud. Butcher's believable, likable set of characters go for the jocular much more than the jugular. Deeper fears do run through the book, and Harry, taking on an apprentice, has to face up to the consequences of his all-too-human failings.
