Assolutamente folle e divertentissimo. Una riflessione originale sui complessi temi della verità, il falso, la falsificazione, l'arte, l'immaginazione e il tempo. Una folla di personaggi, uno più assurdo dell'altro, e una serie di inganni storici e letterari, si intrecciano tra sé, in tre storie, ambientate in epoche diverse. Le storie ci raccontanto del giovane poeta (realmente esistito) Thomas Chatterton, dello scrittore (anche lui realmente esistito) George Meredith, che fece da modello per un quadro rappresentante proprio la morte di Chatterton, e di Charles Wychwood, poeta - questa volta immaginario - alle prese con dei documenti che potrebbero contenere una rivelazione sconvolgente...
