This novel has a very attractive prologue, a slowly official start, a somewhat confusing writing in the middle, and a surprising ending! My first read of a Swedish novel and look forward to discovering more of stories in that part of the world.

印象中聲音的魔力聲音往往讓我覺得勝於文字和意象。
舒國治對於京都的印象乃是"多年後偶在腦際閃過的京都零星印象竟然是夜晚在大德寺左近月光下的深巷長牆及腳踏碎石子的沙沙聲"。四十五個字，不換氣，也不斷句的敲出對千年京都的印象；這是舒氏文章魅力所在吧！
