Abhorsen: (The Abhorsen Trilogy) By Garth Nix
  • This was one of the very first Fantasy series I ever read, and it helped to get me hooked. Definitely recommended.

An Abundance of Katherines By John Green
  • This was just an awesome story. Serious and laughable all at once, slightly angst-y and yet philosophical, in the way only John Green seems to be.

Access by Design: A Guide to Universal Usability for Web Designers By Sarah Horton
Across the Wall: A Tale of the Abhorsen and Other Stories By Garth Nix
  • For any fan of the Abhorsen trilgy, these stories are worth a read. Not quite as full or exciting as the books, but an interesting look at life down the line.

Ahoy, Ghost Ship Ahead! #2: (Pirate School) By Brian James
  • This was one cool story! Not only is the gang finally getting some real pirate lessons, the mysterious ghost ship appears only to them--leaving it as their job to save the day, even if Rotten Tooth doesn't believe them.

The Alchemyst: (Secrets Imrtl Nicholas Flamel) By Michael Scott
  • I didn't like the style of this book at all. I'm not super fond of the characters either. But by page 50 or so the story picks up, and it does keep you turning pages from then on.

I really liked this book, unlike other members of my household. I thought it was a great read. And the ambigrams were awesome. I made some wicked shirts with those :)

Before I Die By Jenny Downham
  • Not the world's easiest read, but a great one. Tessa has a list of things she'd like to do before she dies, and she doesn't plan to let anyone/thing get in her way.

Behind the Curtain: An Echo Falls Mystery (Echo Falls) By Peter Abrahams
  • Echo Falls is a great series. One of the most enjoyable books I've read in awhile. Ingrid Levin-Hill is a really fun character, and her exploits are always enjoyable to follow. I don't usually take to mysteries, but I wouldn't want to miss one of these.

Beige By Cecil Castellucci
  • Really cute story about life in a world that's not native to you. Beige feels just that, when transplanted from Montreal to southern California, but she learns a lot about herself in that foreign land.

The Broken Window: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel (Lincoln Rhyme Novels) By Jeffery Deaver
  • My mother had me read this because she wanted to know how much of the technology was real or accurate. Really good read. And disconcerting.

Brother Odd: (Odd Thomas Novels) By Dean R. Koontz
  • In the beginning the style change was distracting, but once I got past that I flew through the book. Definitely Odd's most complex adventure. And it seems to lead right into the option for a fourth, so that's exciting.

Great book. Any Odd or Koontz fan should be highly pleased.

The Center of Winter: A Novel By Marya Hornbacher
  • I got this just because I thought Wasted was such an excellent book and was glad that Marya was around to write another.

Definitely a good buy. This is a really well written book, and a rather unusual story.

Dairy Queen By Catherine Murdock
  • This was a really great story. DJ, at 15, has taken over the family farm, which has made being a teen just that much more difficult. Especially when the rival QB shows up in her driveway.

Of course to us, Dexter is going to already be in our heads, and the TV version can sometimes seem a little cooler, but I really enjoyed the book, and am interesting to see the directions the story will go, as the books go on way, an the show has apparently gone another.
