A must read for anyone wanting to know exactly what John Calvin's Doctrine was. Calvin defends this doctrine against the criticisms and contrary doctrines of those who chiefly opposed Predestination in Calvin's own day. In defending the doctrine. Calvin also necessarily expounds it further. This is the first modern translation of this document. The first translation into English was by Henry Cole 1856 and reprinted in 1927 by the Sovereign Grace Union. This was updated and reprinted by the RFPA in 1987 and included two historical introductions. So here is J K S Reids translation which to me is very readable and does allow us to read and understand Calvin's thought on the subject. It would have been great if John Calvin could have written a treatise on this subject without the necessity of refruting erroneous doctrines at the same time., we would then have had a most clear, logical and systematic explanation of this doctrine. Here is an opportunity to have this book for yourself and read it at your liesure.
