This has a good beginning and a good ending, but the middle is a bit difficult to get through as it becomes a bit tedious. If you have the patience, it is still a good book.

I appreciated the unique cultural perspective of the main character. To see through the eyes of an Iranian woman and their views of Americans was eye-opening. A good read, although parts of it are a bit contrived.

Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen

This has been my favorite book this summer. I found it easy to connect and empathize with the main character as she grows. The only criticism I have is that I would have liked a more drawn out ending, but this is still a wonderful read.

For me, this was better than Kite Runner. I felt closely connected to both female characters and was amazed by how well Hosseini was able to depict women. The story itself is heartbreaking, yet inspirational. This is one of my all-time favorites.

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever
Julia Quinn is one of my favorite authors of romance novels. Her books never take more than a couple of hours because it is difficult to put them down. They read like a romantic movie and always have happy endings.
