登山這件事情在台灣總是被當作是危險的，難以親近的一項運動，一直到現在高山嚮導證都已經廢除不知道幾年之後，一般的人也都還是以為需要有高山嚮導才能夠去爬山。
但是事實上不是這樣的，雖然地域上有所差異，但是不論在那一個國家哪種高度登山，有許多的基本技能都是一致的，而我認為這本書裡頭提供了幾乎所有對於攀登時的基本技能的講解，而且在翻譯算是流暢的狀況下，可以讓中文的讀者很好的理解到許許多多可能在台灣的山上只能以經驗傳授的那些東西。
所以，如果你是一個愛爬山的人，不要讓把這本書留在書店裡，而應該要把他帶回家。如果你是一個想要精進登山技術的人，不要把他擺在架上，而應該放在手邊，並且認真的 ... (continue)
