Bella, once again mellodramatic, this time over Edward's absence, goes into a deep depression and becomes deluded with hallucinations and craziness (because that's the sign of a healthy relationship). She starts to hang out with Jacob and actually becomes a bit less crazy and possesses a bit more personality, I liked that. While the idea that Bella CANNOT function or remain an independent personality from Edward really annoys the crap out of me, I loved the pre-werewolf stuff Bella goes through with Jake. Foer tends to make multiple story lines simultaneously, but it took me awhile for figure out the one with letters. I'm sure if I had read the back cover it would have came more clearly, but in the end it all flowed nicely. I really love his writing.

I started reading this on the bus and couldn't tear my eyes away from it. Amazing, addictive, grabs at your soul and takes you for a wild ride.
