Not as good as the previous books. Too much Dexter at Home and not enough Dexter at Play

Average Odd Thomas fare. Easily the worst of the series which is one of Koontz's best characters. Too bad though because I was really looking forward to this one.

Another good read from Stephen King -
Stephen King has been on a roll ever since Cell. Not your typical horror novel, but King rolls together a great story with compelling characters that slowly takes turns into the creepy. Reminded me alot of Lizzy's Story, not in subject but in how it built. Very good.

A little better than the first in the series. Not quite as much verbatim reciting of the gospel and a little more story behind it. All in all, I'm starting to see the point of the series as a way to read the gospels without slogging through them but I could use more around the passages.

- Simply Christian (18)
- Why Christianity Makes Sense
- By N.T. Wright

Finished on Jun 5, 2008

Not quite as compelling initially as Reason for God or Mere Christianity, but N.T. Wright has some intriguing views on heaven and how that shapes our daily lives as Christians. Worth the read but give it time to get through the initial chapters.

The Darkest Evening of the Year

-
Not one of Koontz's best, but given his prolific writings, not unexpected. Not a bad story, just forgettable but not unenjoyable.

This book is remarkable. It reminds me strongly of Mere Christianity in the simple but profound ways that it outlines the gospel of Jesus. Even as a believer, this book made me think about my faith in new ways. For those that are skeptical about religion, this book drives home what I believe that ... (continue)

A great follow-up to Rice's wonderfully fresh first novel in this series. I actually ended up reading this straight through in about 3 hours. It surprised me by starting much later in Jesus' life but covered some important points very well. Again, I wholeheartedly recommend this.

Rules of Prey
Great start of a new series for me. If you like the Dexter novels, this will probably be a great fit for you. I'm anxious to start reading more of this series.
