If only all trilogies were like this. The final chapter of this epic struggle, set in a worldwide vampiric tyranny, delivers all the revelations it promised, from the unexpected (but hinted) origins of the Master and the enigmatic Mr. Quinlan to the mysterious book, the Occido Lumen.

This good had all the chances to be a disappointment, after the great Jumper. Written ten years after the first, you know, the usual. Well, only in one aspect it's the same as the first. You just can't put it down. Now I want to read ALL Gould stuff.

Un "Bar Sport" benniano, versione musicale. -
The battle rages on. The first book ended with such a cliffhanger that compelled me to start the second and I'm not disappointed. This was a trilogy to begin with and it shows. Now I don't know how I will do until The Night Eternal (the third and final book) comes out.

Unlike the forgettable movie, I liked this a lot. There are no ridiculous Paladin secret societies here, only a kid with a gift. A tremendous gift, that sometimes can do more harm than good.
More similar to a coming of age story than science fiction, but a thrilling one. I recommend this, more so if ... (continue) - — Aug 10, 2011 | Add your feedback

I don't know if Del Toro and Hogan conceived this trilogy as an antidote to the literary vampiric fashion still raging on. It doesn't matter, with its "medical" take on the legendary bloodsuckers, deep characters and detailed research, this is one of those book you won't be able to put down easily. ... (continue)

This is a novella commissioned by Amazon. It's about a Kindle. Some people automatically cried about King having sold out to the greedy evil corporations, probably in need of money. This makes me laugh to no end. The great Renaissance artists were no better, by the way, as most of their works have been commissioned by the biggest corporation of all, the Church.
Anyway, if you don't have odd prejudices (and you probably have less then average already, as you can read this on a Kindle only), get this. It's a tale in perfect Stephen King style, a bit lighter than the usual, but where I live, quality isn't measured in lightness.
