這是少數我極為喜愛的書，每次閱讀，都有不同的感受。和紅樓夢一樣，是一本永遠讀不完的書。不僅僅因為作者動人優美的文字，一生經歷，更因為她對非洲土地人事的豐富情感。除此外，這本書還記錄了一個女人的成長，不要忘了，她的年代在20世紀初期，需要多大的勇氣，遠離家鄉，與眾不同，敢追求自己的夢想，敢要求和男人一樣被平等對待。
