  • an interesting insight into E (from the EELS)'s life. the guy sure had an interesting life, but, while his sincere and straightforward writing style is perfect for songs, it's not so great for books. "things the grandchildren should know" is pretty much essential for any EELS fan, like anything E has ever produced, but the casual reader will probably just find it too much uninteresting and naive. ... Cover of Our Band Could Be Your Life

  • if you like hardcore punk (and what came from it) and want to know how it all got started, go buy this book right now.
    it's not focusing on the music but rather on the bands' stories, so if you're looking for a critical essay this ain't the book for you.
