After watching both the Guy Ritchie's movies and the bbc series, I felt somehow compelled to try and read the original material, and I didn't regret it! The story is interesting, the writing good, the characters quite likeable (well, most of the time). I'll definitely read the other stories too.

I don't know if it is because I've read it at the right age, or if it's actually better, but I still think that The Giver is the best book in this trilogy.
Still, Messenger was a beautiful book, and this is one trilogy that every kid should read. - — Dec 27, 2011 | Add your feedback

I didn't like it much more than the first one, but I'm still waiting til I reach the first book that wasn't adapted into the movie, so that maybe not knowing what is going to happen will make it more entertaining.
Still, a good read between university books.

I read this book when I was younger, more than once I think, but I couldn't remember much of it.
What I do remember is that Christopher Pike has been one of my favourite writers for many years, but based on this book I can't really understand why (well, it might be that the italian translator was ac ... (continue) - — Dec 19, 2011 | Add your feedback

I wasn't aware of this books and their fandom until they started making the movie. I'm a sucker for dystopian futures, so I wanted to read them since I found out what they were about.

This book was different that I thought it would be, and in a good way. I like that everything was televised; I like that Capitol is so silly and yet so scary at the same time; I like that most character were round enough.
Also, I couldn't stop reading, and I read the second half of the book last night, instead of sleeping XD.
