Cover of "The Bad Place"
    • The Bad Place
    • A suspenseful page-turner that sucks you in from the start. I enjoyed the many memorable characters in this book and the inevitable tension that develops when these characters interact. This novel is a satisfying departure from the traditional Koontz read (for the most part).

Cover of "Maximum Ride"
    • The Angel Experiment
    • The storyline tends to be a little too "pat" when it comes to plot resolutions for me, but I can imagine this series would be a hit with many young readers (boys in particular). I recommend this for anybody who is a fan of Katherine Applegate's Animorphs series.

Cover of "The Dollmaker"
    • The Dollmaker
    • This book has a wonderfully imaginative premise and well crafted characters. Not as strong on either suspense or chills as I would have expected from reading the cover blurbs, but a story worth reading nonetheless.

Bobbie Faye is back and it's new day. Unfortunately this day doesn't show any signs of being any less dangerous than the very, very, very, very bad day she just had. This time Bobbie needs to find her Aunt Marie's missing diamonds which are worth millions - each. And the catch is that there are at least three separate groups looking to get their hands on the diamonds, all willing to hurt members of Bobbie Faye's family if she doesn't deliver the diamonds directly to them. All the old cast members are back and the game is on.
However, I found this book slightly less appealing than the first one. The first book was chock full of action and laugh out loud situations. While this book also had a good helping of Bobbie Faye getting herself into (and out of) ridiculously dangerous situations, more time was spent developing the romance between Bobbie and Trevor and reviving the romance between Bobbie and Cam which made for quite a few slow spots in-between the action.

Choose "block", and this shelf will be filtered out for all purposes.

How does the voting work?

What's the difference between friends and neighbors?
Friends are people you know. Neighbors are people you don't know but you'd like to keep track of their updates anyway.

You get to choose. If you can choose to visit anonymously, you will not get to see who has visited your shelf. Fair deal.
