Cover of "Positive Discipline"
    • Both Gert's and my schools adopted Positive Discipline briefly and we had lots of training. This is the manual for the program. I am much more an assertive discipline type.

Cover of "Cosmos"
    • I recall reading a lot of this when it first came out and I always wanted a copy. When my folks moved, I took it.

Cover of "Forgotten Towns of Southern New Jersey"
    • I have basically read all of this. I believe there was a section or two I had skipped.

Cover of "A History of the Supreme Court"
    • I picked this up in 1995, I think. This was after I read The Brethern. I have an interest in the Supreme Court.

Cover of "In Defense of Elitism"
Cover of "TENDER IS THE NIGHT"
    • Gert and I each purchased a copy of this in 2000. The idea was that we would have our own book club and this would be our first book. That neither of us finished the book shows how developed that plan was.

      Multiple copies.

When I was a teenager, Tolkien's books became very popular. I am not a huge sci-fi/fantasy guy, but had heard how wonderful this was. Mr. Raspa, my 7th grade language/reading teacher, was the first person to mention this book to me. I recall his description of the wizard clearly.

Some day I will read this and enjoy it. I used to own a paperback version, but picked this hardback up in one of the many book clubs I have been in over the years.

Cover of "Inside The Brain"
    • Brain research has been prominent in education. It seems as though as everyone is on the bandwagon. This book made the rounds of one school I taught at.

I am less excited by this research than most seem to be.

FAQ See all

I see a shelf I like. How can I keep track of its updates?

If you know the person, add as a friend. Otherwise, add as a neighbor. Either way, you will get to stay on top of future updates via RSS feeds.

I see a shelf I don't want to ever see again. What can I do?

Choose "block", and this shelf will be filtered out for all purposes.

How does the voting work?
Find a comment helpful / unhelpful? Cast your vote. Only one vote from each person will be counted. Every hour we gather all the votes, add them up, add some magic source, and there we have the new sorting for the comments on the page of this book!
What's the difference between friends and neighbors?
Friends are people you know. Neighbors are people you don't know but you'd like to keep track of their updates anyway.
Would I would leave a trace when I visit other people's shelf?
You get to choose. If you can choose to visit anonymously, you will not get to see who has visited your shelf. Fair deal.
