    Un incipit folgorante, un romanzo asciutto e essenziale. McEwan è quasi maniacale nella cura dei dettagli con i quali delinea i propri personaggi. E' quasi chirurgia della parola, mette in scena l'anamnesi del mondo interiore del protagonista.
    Notevole l'epilogo...
