take 23 people, close them in a dungeon, placed in an old theater. abandon them to their fate. and just look at them while they torture themselves to death, telling horror stories on how they got there. it's the way a real "big brother" should be done in TV. 23 little indians, not even needing a real killer among them, as they need to be killed, one after the other, to be the last to survive.

just finished, less than five minutes ago. intense and amazing. it looks like extraordinary stories, none of us will ever go through such lives... but that's just surrounding, what counts is the feeling. and that's normal. normal fears, normal sentiments. it's like being carried, with all the real feelings, in an unreal life going through murder, massacre, hate. bring normal life to the extreme.

vai a quando ti stupivi ai salti di tempo di monsters. vai alla solitudine di eleanor rigby. vai all'isolamento di diary. vai all'unica superstite dell'incidente aereo di miss wyoming. vai alle canzoni cantate all'indietro. c'è una forte e fastidiosa somiglianza tra pahlaniuk e coupland. eleanor rigby sa di miss wyoming, e sa di diary. nello stile e nell'assurdità delle situazioni, spacciata con ferrea veridicità. potrebbero essere un unico libro, assurdo e distorto in cui tutte le assurdità passano in secondo piano, dietro alla disperazione verso la vita e la ricerca della capacità di deciderne il corso. tutto immancabilmente rovinato dal sogno americano del felice finale.
da sconsigliare a chi si sente solo.

Astonishing. I've been about to leave it apart a few times. It took me a while (half the book, at least) to become keen to finish it. First, I didn't understand what this story was about. Then, when it become clear, it was supreme, psychical violence... a real psycho thriller.

Nice and easy. I didn't want to read anything about Harry Potter, for the only reason that I don't like readign books that are too much advertised. Then came the ring. And I subscribed. And I'm happy I did it. And I liked the book. Nice and easy, not more.

The remake of Apocalypse Now is wonderful. Capt. Willard's mission has been replaced by a date with Kurtz's daughter! And can you figure an imaginary interview with Freud, where at the end Freud comes out to be the patient? great. I'll go seeking for this book, I might need to keep it as a reference! :-D
