Cover of Darkly Dreaming Dexter
  • Similar to Showtime Series Season One

Most of the book mirrored a lot of the Showtime series for Season One, but there were some drastic differences at the conclusion of the novel.

A good, easy read, and a very interesting character.

Another intimate look into the unimaginably tough life of Afghanis - this time focusing on two women - over the course of their lifetimes. The settings border on unbelievable at times, but looking back over the course of the last 30 years in Afghanistan, it's not hard to imagine how brutal life can be under the changing regimes and war time atrocities.

A very compelling read. Highly recommend this and The Kite Runner.

A vivid tale of rabbits finding a new life for themselves.

There are segments of "over-wording," where the details are piled on and described for pages at a time, but overall the story flows very well. At times you are in the rabbits' world, sensing their fear and excitement as though you were there.

A long read, but well worth the effort in the end.

    Chick-lit?

My wife read this book first, and loved it. I read it after her, and while I loved the last 1/4 of the book, the rest of the book focused on Bella's feelings and emotions. I assume she enjoyed that a lot more than I did, but towards the end once the action picked-up, I couldn't put it down.
