I thought this was an easy read. It wasn't completely enthralling and I felt that it had a lot of repetition of key phrases or ideas or "feelings" from the characters that Rice was trying to shove down your throat, in the way that the Potter books repeat the whole entire previous book in the beginning of the next in the series. If you have a brain it screams OK I GET IT THIS BOOK COULD HAVE BEEN 50 PAGES. I thought it read like a novel that would have been in the juniors section of the library. It dealt with life choices relating to family, religion, celibacy... with a jumble of staring at the scenery of the CT shore and throwbacks at Ireland...

I think Rice tried and it wasn't a total flop, but when I was done I was done and I've already forgotten how it ended.

Cover of "Dracula"

    • I read this novel for an English Lit class in College. It's a great classic story that explains the mystery behind Dracula himself... sort of. Every story you read or see on screen portrays the Dracula myth differently but nonetheless its always a good one!

Cover of "Mrs. Dalloway"
    • I read this for a Modern Lit course in College. It was an OK read. Not the best book, a little drab and old fashioned. It was interesting... but don't expect too much magic.

FAQ See all

I see a shelf I like. How can I keep track of its updates?

If you know the person, add as a friend. Otherwise, add as a neighbor. Either way, you will get to stay on top of future updates via RSS feeds.

I see a shelf I don't want to ever see again. What can I do?

Choose "block", and this shelf will be filtered out for all purposes.

How does the voting work?
Find a comment helpful / unhelpful? Cast your vote. Only one vote from each person will be counted. Every hour we gather all the votes, add them up, add some magic source, and there we have the new sorting for the comments on the page of this book!
What's the difference between friends and neighbors?
Friends are people you know. Neighbors are people you don't know but you'd like to keep track of their updates anyway.
Would I would leave a trace when I visit other people's shelf?
You get to choose. If you can choose to visit anonymously, you will not get to see who has visited your shelf. Fair deal.
