Cover of Watership Down
Cover of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee
  • I liked this book, even if I found it a little boring in the middle. Anyway, it's kinda good. Pippa turns out to be a nice woman, and anyway I think that the point of this book is that we shouldn't try to change our nature, if we don't want to feel trapped!

Lovely. I must admit that at the beginning I didn't know what to think about the book, but it was just because I had to "enter" the story. I loved the idea, and the way the author chose to let the story go (letting be narrated by the 2 characters) . In the end I almost cried, but that's quite usual :P ... (continue)

Cover of Ash Wednesday
  • I think that the fact that I couldn't like the characters, affected my reading. I think they are more related to movie world thatn to the real one...
Sometime I found the book boring too. Part could have been cut without losing the story line.

Do we really depends on our name? It really afflicts our life, or things just happen, whatever you're called?
I loved this book... the incapacity of Gogol's parents to leave their roots, the search of the latter of trying to take distance from a world he doesn't recognize. And then, things just change, and you find yourself thinking about your life, deciding what to do, wondering if it's right or not.
It's somehow a sad book, but so deep that I couldn't help going on reading. Great! ... (continue)

Cover of The Baker's Apprentice
  • Wyn again. Wyn and her new life. Wyn and Mac. But Mac leave, and Wyn find herself alone. She has time to think, she finds out things about Mac, and she finally will have to take decisions.

I loved this even more than "Bread alone"; I think characters are more shaped somehow, esp. Mac who is my fave, actually. Lovely recipes inside!! ... (continue)

Cover of 84 Charing Cross Road
  • A funny and delicious book. Time has passed since those letters were wrote, but the feeling of friendship between people who never meet is clear, bright I should say. Friendship is not only meet, hug and chat. It's, more than everything give.

Look, there are spoilers on this comment.

So, this is the last Chapter of the whole story. I liked the book, liked it very much, especially after the 6th, that left me many doubts (and I guess I will be reading it again, now.).
Well, it wasn't easy, many characters were lost, many secrets were told. I loved the battle in Hogwarts, some part even made me laugh ;) I learned to like house-elves, even Kreacher, so I was sad to see how Dobby left the scene.
I wasn't pleased as well about the death of Lupin, not just because he died, but as he just appeared after a while dead, without even tell me who was, and how it happened. Too quick.
I was pleased to have Sirius back for a short while, this made me cry ;)
I guessed right that Harry was a kind o Horcrux, but I liked how he didn't die, how it wasn't so easy to end up the story.
I still don't know if I will forgive Dumbledore. I still feel disappointed whit him.
I would have like to know more about the whole lot, maybe the last chapter was a bit too evasive. Anyway, that's the way it is.
I feel a bit strange thinking this is the last ;) ... (continue)
