Cover of "She Went All the Way"
    • Another fun read by Meg Cabot. I enjoy her books, and I am glad she writes for adults and young adults.

I thought this was a fasinating look at a culture that many of us has no idea exists in the United States. I think especially up here in Wisconsin where people can't live out of the their campers year-round this seems absolutely foreign. I wonder if it is known about in the South where these people usually travel and live.I think the author did a wonderful job making the reader feel sympathetic towards the characters. There were times when it would just make me mad what they did to the unsuspecting victims. I think Whitney did a great job balancing the badness of the characters with the good. For example, Bridget was always questioning her lifestyle which in fact made it more acceptable to me as a reader. I could still be appaled by the other characters, but I could related to Bridget.I think this would be a great read for book club. I wonder if it would be too new to do this year or if we could get away with it because it isn't very popular.SPOILERI was a little disappointed with the ending. I was hoping she would leave the Travelers and go be with her sister to start a new life. However, you could also really tell that Patrick was in love with her and you can't be too disappointed that they ended up together in the way she wanted.

Cover of "Saving Francesca"
    • This is great. The narrator is great and the author really gave Francesca a great voice. I loved it. I think it might be a good one for book club. It deals with a few good issues. Marchetta is Australian, so there were a few things that took a little bit of getting used to, but overall I thought it ... Continue

Cover of "The Second Summer of the Sisterhood"
    • I was dissatisfied with this installment. I can't wait to read the third one. The first book was definately better. I am curious if these books will continue when the girls go to college.

Cover of "Sam's Letters to Jennifer"
    • I would recommend this to people who enjoyed Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. It also reminds me of Nicholas Sparks's novels.

Gore's novel reminds me of Fielding's Briget Jones books and Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination. It also reminded me of Meg Cabot's adult series begining with The Boy Next Door.I know Gore has not written any other novels, but I am curious as to what else she has written. I had so much fun listening to this book.

I dislike this book at the same time I liked it. It was hard to understand due to the use of Spanish. However, I like that the author did this, making this book more appealing to students who speak Spanish as their first language or possibly appealing to a teacher for use in a classroom. I think it would be a good discussion book, however, I think it would be a hard book to sell to to students because of its length and the possible Spanish challenge. It does deal with the issue of drungs, death and war.I think the author did a very good job of portraying life as a Mexican American during the 1960s. The story seem believable even while it was overly tragic.pendejos = jerksQuotesp. 42 Fathers new a lot of things, I wondered why fathers kept so many secrets from their sons.
