Cover of "Redemption"
    • I thought this book was kind of predictable; however, it was compelling enough that I would like to read more in the series.

Cover of "The Remnant"
    • The quality of the writing in this volume is better then others, but still not as good as the first couple in the series. I am reading these just because I read the rest of the series--I can't seem to quit now.

Cover of "Ready or Not"
    • This book didn't really impress me. It seemed like the only thing driving the plot was whether or not Sam would decide to have sex with her boyfriend. This is the sequel to All-American Girl and definately liked that one better. I do feel that there is definately a teen girl audience for this book.

Cover of "Redeeming Love"
    • Based on the book of Hosea. What a great illustration of God's grace!

This is the second time I listened to this novel. I don't remember it well only that I liked it. I enjoyed it again this time. We are discussing this for book club and I look forward to hearing what people think of it. I loved listening to this novel because the narrator did a wonderful job telling the story. I wonder if I would have liked it as well if I had read it instead of listening to it.

Cover of "Queen of Babble"
    • A fun read. Cabot always delivers a fun and entertaining read. I can't say that it was very thought provoking or well written, just entertaining. I own a signed copy, but I checked out the audiobook from the library.

I liked this novel at the same time I disliked it. I hope to re-read it sometime and not hurry through it as I did this time. I need to return it because it is due. I talked to a student about it the other day and she said she didn't like it because she didn't like the characters. I can relate to that. Ashley, the main character, made me mad a few times, but at the same time I thought she was a very real charcter. In Ashley's words she is "normal."I think this would be and interesting book to discuss and I look forward to suggesting it as discussion book for HHS Reads.

FAQ See all

I see a shelf I like. How can I keep track of its updates?

If you know the person, add as a friend. Otherwise, add as a neighbor. Either way, you will get to stay on top of future updates via RSS feeds.

I see a shelf I don't want to ever see again. What can I do?

Choose "block", and this shelf will be filtered out for all purposes.

How does the voting work?
Find a comment helpful / unhelpful? Cast your vote. Only one vote from each person will be counted. Every hour we gather all the votes, add them up, add some magic source, and there we have the new sorting for the comments on the page of this book!
What's the difference between friends and neighbors?
Friends are people you know. Neighbors are people you don't know but you'd like to keep track of their updates anyway.
Would I would leave a trace when I visit other people's shelf?
You get to choose. If you can choose to visit anonymously, you will not get to see who has visited your shelf. Fair deal.
