Cover of "The Prometheus Deception"
    • I started listening to this one and just wanted to finish it faster, so I picked up the paperback at the library. There were so many twists and turns I hardly could keep them straight, but I still enjoyed the book. I look forward to trying other books by Robert Ludlum.

This book was recommened to me by Susanna T., an international student from Sweden as one of her favorite books. I haven't read a "classic" in so long I was a little bit skeptical about reading it. I bouth the book about a month or so ago and hadn't had a chance to start it and then my class started and I didn't hae time to read, so I picked up the unabridged audio version.I ended up enjoyinging it. I think it ended up being a good discussion book for the summer. We'll see how the others like it, if they readt. I know that I would never want to live during that time period for the pure fact that women are discriminated against at such a high level.Questions1. How would you describe the Bennett family? Normal? Disfunctional?2. Would you have wanted to live during that time? Why or why not?3. I am not sure that I would have liked living during that time period, as a woman you couldn't really do as you choosed only as your husband or family chose. How would you feel about this? Would you want to stay at home to entertain? What if you were part of a lower class and had to actually work?

Cover of "Playing in Traffic"
    • The ending is not all tidy. I want more!! I like the overall book. It definately kept me turning the page. I would like to know what the students think of this. Skye, the main female character, was rather disturbing. She is the kind of kid that all the little red flags go up, yet a person can't help ... Continue

She is the kind of kid that all the little red flags go up, yet a person can't help but want to get to know her and try to help her even though it is probably hopeless.

I think this could make a good discussion book. I found it appropriate for YAs, however, I am not sure they would be overly interested in the subject matter.

Cover of "Pinned"
Cover of "Pirates!"
    • Once I was half way through this book it really started to pick up for me. I wasn't really excited about it, however, it was a good read. The ending kind of leaves you hanging. I wonder if Rees will write a sequel.

Cover of "Photo Fun"
Cover of "Pictures of Hollis Woods"
    • Overall this book was ok. I think a prequel would be nice to give a little background on why Hollis ended up where she did. The ending did not leave any loose ends which was good.

FAQ See all

I see a shelf I like. How can I keep track of its updates?

If you know the person, add as a friend. Otherwise, add as a neighbor. Either way, you will get to stay on top of future updates via RSS feeds.

I see a shelf I don't want to ever see again. What can I do?

Choose "block", and this shelf will be filtered out for all purposes.

How does the voting work?
Find a comment helpful / unhelpful? Cast your vote. Only one vote from each person will be counted. Every hour we gather all the votes, add them up, add some magic source, and there we have the new sorting for the comments on the page of this book!
What's the difference between friends and neighbors?
Friends are people you know. Neighbors are people you don't know but you'd like to keep track of their updates anyway.
Would I would leave a trace when I visit other people's shelf?
You get to choose. If you can choose to visit anonymously, you will not get to see who has visited your shelf. Fair deal.
