Some truths are told, but in spite of being quite obvious it is necessary that it is done as clearly as this book does.

Great but already known -
Great insights from Joel Spolsky's blog, although all of the material has been already published on other books from the same author.

The Best Software Writing I
A collection of stone-age essays (on Internet timing, anyway) about software. Style, quality, topic and extension are quite variable, but the overall impression is good.
This book was supposed to be re-edited annually with the best writings of the year. It is a pity it didn't succeed.
