Wow. -
Actually, it's the best travel journal I've read in my whole life. Sure, other books from Kaplan are good books, well written and with some great ideas on foreign policy, culture clash, demography – and places. I loved them all.
This one, though, is truly a gem. -

Sciltian Gastaldi è un mio amico. Non avevo letto questo suo romanzo, il suo libro di maggior successo editoriale, e l'ho ringraziato ieri per avermene regalato una copia della nuova edizione – autoprodotta su lulu.com per via di una causa con il vecchio editore.
Il racconto è una meraviglia. Sono rimasto attaccato alle pagine dall'inizio alla fine, rinunciando a qualche ora di sonno. I personaggi, ancorché insopportabilmente ventenni, sono splendidi. Il loro amore è limpido, romantico, passionale, sensuale.
Ecco, sensuale. Questa è la parola magica. Sono un eterosessuale e pur avendo un tot di amici gay, per pudore e un'educazione old fashioned, non ho mai chiesto come si sviluppasse un rapporto. Questo mi ha scioccato e nel contempo fatto innamorare di “Angeli da un'ala soltanto”. Sciltian scrive bene, ovvio che anche questo giochi la sua parte, ma lui posso leggerlo e lo leggo ogni giorno sul suo blog. Il romanzo mi ha sconvolto: raccontare i corpi «inzaccherati» dei due ragazzi, quando la mia testa ha sempre visualizzato le mie compagne, è stato il colpo definitivo.
Andrebbe fatto leggere ad ogni genitore, che i figli siano etero o omosessuali.
