I had a hard time getting through the begining; I found it to be a little slow. The character didn't really jump off the page at me. Although Ian McEwan is a master with the English language, I found a lot of emotion left out of this book. I just didn't really connect with any of the characters, but it was still a decent read. Sad to say this is the first time I might actually enjoy the movie better than the book.

Enjoyable book. I like the strong characters and the web of deceit and drama is craftly written. My only real annoyance was trying to follow what Joseph's character was saying!

Another good one. Twilight was still my favorite, but I like that the plot was a little more twisted and indepth in Eclipse. Still couldn't put it down till I finished it and at the end I was happy, angry and sad all in one and wondering "what next?" Any book that accomplishes that has to be good. B ... (continue)

Bella got on my nerves sometimes in this book, as did Edward when he was Mr. Controlling, which was good because previously they were just too perfect! Still love ALL the characters, even when I hated them at times :)

Jacob's storyline regarding his secret was obvious of course, and I grew impatient waiting for Bella to figure it out from the very first mention of it all :) Overall, still a very good book.

My sister loves these books and bugged me forever to read them and I kept putting them off. Sci-fi/Vampire books just usually aren't my thing, although she loves them. After running out of my own books to read, I finally gave in and read Twilight. Okay, I love it. The characters are so powerful you almost think they are real. Who wouldn't want an Edward in their life? ;)

Cover of The Coffin Quilt
  • Heart-breaking & thought provoking. A well written account of history and a family's pride. I loved the strength of Fanny's character.
