Don't let the awful movie adaptation scare you off from this book. If anything, the movie wasn't crazy enough. This is a fantastically fun read.

This book surprised me, especially in how methodically paced it is through the first half of the book. From the quotes on the cover, I expected it to rocket into violence, but it spends a great deal of time introducing its cast of characters, establishing a framework for the mystery... exactly like a "locked room mystery" should. The second half pays off nicely. A very entertaining book, and I'm looking forward to grabbing the sequel.
