I'm disappointed, and not so thrilled with the ending. I had hoped that the book would redeem itself.

The Stone Key: The Obernewtyn Chronicles - Book Five By Isobelle Carmody
  • Quite a number of errors in the book, including glaring inaccuracies in the location of characters at certain points in the story. Could have been edited better.

  • THE GODDAMNED SYMBOLISM!!!

I have to say that I loved the symbolism, I loved the use of Romeo and Juliet to explain themes, I love the way the author strings the story together. I love the action, and the pace, and the way I can't put it down.
However, I hated the love interest.

  • Enjoyed it, but it was markedly culturally American. Reminded me of Jodi Picoult a little, in that way.

The Will Of The Empress By Tamora Pierce
The Looking Glass Wars By Frank Beddor
  • Very good. I read most of it in one night, but then was busy for a week!
I thought that it seemed a little young, but, it IS a children's book. I loved the 'power of imagination' being the primary force at work. And the reflexivity. I love reflexivity.
