If the first installment had left me somewhat disappointed, I must say that this second book is more similar to the fantasy novel I expected from the start.

If the first installment had left me somewhat disappointed, I must say that this second book is more similar to the fantasy novel I expected from the start.
Besides it's interesting the way the character of the protagonist evolves through the narration.
But while many questions find answers new mysteries appear so that I can hardly wait for the third and final book. :-)

A glorious end of the trip

It's hard to talk about just the novel when, in my opinion, the best job this book does is arising questions in the reader.
Many a time it made me consider issues about mankind from a different point of view.

It's hard to talk about just the novel when, in my opinion, the best job this book does is arising questions in the reader.
Many a time it made me consider issues about mankind from a different point of view.
Sure enough it would have probably been better if the "revelation" about the whole of Rama saga at the end of the book had kept something of the mysterious atmosphere that made the first book such a captivating reading.
But, all in all, the saga is a trademak for Science fiction

History meeting novel...and not so bad a union after all.
Being the first Follet's book I read I have no idea of the style of the author, but I can say that when there are so many characters it's probably best focusing on the story rather than on the protagonists.

Simply put, I do like the way this author writes and I find fashinating the idea of giving colours to the words giving them additional meaning.
As for the story...I liked the first book of the series more also because in my opinion the atmosphere in this one is not as gothic as it used to be.

Maybe not the most beautiful book I've ever read, but surely the one that I "felt" inside the most.
It made me reflect over how today we manage friendship and love, but above all this book makes you ask yourself what being human really means.

Maybe not the most beautiful book I've ever read, but surely the one that I "felt" inside the most.
It made me reflect over how today we manage friendship and love, but above all this book makes you ask yourself what being human really means.
And in the end I'll hardly forget the last image with the protagonist alone on that lonely road just as I had been there with her in that very moment.
