Let's face it, the main character of this book is brilliant! Let's face it, the main character of this book is brilliant! He is the perfect antihero, a fat, selfish, egocentric womanizer, who pretends to be the one that will save the world when he actually is stealing the ideas of someone else. It's impossible to resist him, wondering how it was possible for him to get married five times.
He has won a nobel prize in physics but he is exactly the opposite of the stereotype: lazy, loves alcool, sex, women. It's not really phoned of studying, just lucky.
Really enjoyable.

I'm not really skilled in topology and this book gives a really understandable overview over some interesting topics of the subject.

Probably it's my fault, but I couldn't appreciate the book at all. The humor is not really sparkling, and my knowledge of english is not that good. Finally I finished it.

Again, I cannot help but being in love with Nick Hornby. Everyone can reflect himself, somehow, in one of the characters in the novel. The story itself is really simple: a man in his thirties who is afraid of growing up and getting involved with the people sorrounding him suddendly starts to realize how everything can be different and how dangerous it can be.
I think that with High Fidelity this is the best novel Hornby ever wrote.

Here you are, sixteen year-old boy and quite a lot of troubles exactly at the time when everything seemed to be perfect he messed everything up.
But then, he is brave, funny, young and generous. He could be better and he could be worse, he is just a boy dealing with facts that are not suppose to happen at 16.
The story isn't that weird, it's something that can happen to all the teenagers, and it should be read by anybody who is in between 15 and 20, in my opinion.

One of the worldfamous masterpieces of irish literature. One of the most interesting books ever written in my opinion. Even if I don't share the philosophy of the main characters of the book I still find it really interesting. Art doesn't need to be useful, art is enough for itself, that's why in the name of art somebody can destroy his own life also by losing respect of the others. Nicely written with plenty of citations of works of Shakespeare, who is somehow always present in the book.

Having already seen the movie that was taken from this book I still remembered some of the most important parts of the story. Far away from being a teaching book it is a nice reading for a couple of days. The story at some points sounds like a fairy tale, where mother don't understand the powerful minds of children and where magic has still an important role. In any case the book is nicely written and really enjoyable.
The descriptions of the chocolate creations are in any case mouthwatering and outstanding.

One of the nicest mistery novel written in the last period. Everything changes if it's seen from the eyes of a boy with behavioural problems. And our Christopher is actually a boy that is for sure different. Interesting also the description about the relationship of the character with the parents. And still amazing how the writer is able to describe the world with the eyes of a completely different person, for whom mathematics is easier than social relationships.
