faff -
A boring faff. I couldn't detect the point around which this book is written. And I'm a Tube geek, so I thought it would hold at least something interesting. Nope.

didn't really blow my mind -
Tim Birkhead is a professor at Sheffield Uni, and after taking part in two of his lectures for the public at a couple of festivals in Sheffield I decided to read this book. He is an absolute pleasure to hear, funny and always keeping the attention span up. I read "Promiscuity" in Italian years ago a ... (

confusion -
A wee bit twisted plot, I'm finding it hard to follow smoothly. But it's good, don't be put off! I got absolutely sucked in towards the end and read the last 200 pages in a day. But there are still things I don't get, it must be I'm daft.

due palle, altro che due stelle -
Menomale me ne sono liberata in nove giorni (finendolo veramente a fatica).
L'idea sarebbe pure interessante, sicuramente per gente tipo me che vive di fantascienza e distopie future. Poi dai, c'è pure uno storico come personaggio, diamogli questo merito.
Ma davvero due palle così, finire un libro d ... (continue ) -

classics are not my thing -
I've finally made peace with the fact that so-called "classics" are not my thing, if we want to generalise. This one is no exception. Incredibly boring, even though the idea is genius.

A Storm of Swords Complete Edition (Two in One) (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 3)

Amazing -
Gripping, tragic, hilarious in parts, kept me from sleeping and having a life. My read for 2012.
Apparently after this one George RR Martin's ego and verbosity make the series go tits up, and I'm scared of reading the 4th and 5th instalments after reading reviews, but hey, thanks for this one George ... (continue ) -

It has some good moments. But frankly, George RR, what's the point?
I have a burning curiosity since the end of Clash of kings: WHERE IN SEVEN HELLS IS THEON GREYJOY? Other questions, in a random order: do we care about all the existing small houses under the sun? And what happened to Bran Rickon Hodor Sam Gilly etc under the wall? And why on earth should we buy this commercial maneuvre, where nothing happens, characters are just more evil than usual, or travelling around the world? Where are the editors? At least I didn't have to wat years for this, and I won't have to wait 6 for the following instalment either. I just really hope George RR gets the grips of this before it's too late and we all die of boredom.
