“The Rapture” is the first novel in English I have ever read from cover to cover. Throughout the book I could appreciate its precise language, which was perfectly capable of representing a desire for detachment from the common feelings of the main character. After reading this novel, I could share Gabrielle’s desire for revenge and independence: a typical desire of all women who have been deeply hurt just because they are female. I think I will try other books by this author. Her writing has engaged me a lot and I think her other works may be worth reading too. This was a great read. Highly original and kept me guessing until the end. I read this through in a couple of days, so keen was I to know what was happening. Gabrielle is a psychologist working with a young girl who is predicting catastrophes. A tale of an apocalypse.
